Hi, allow us to introduce ourselves.
My name is Ashley and from a very early age I loved building Lego and Meccano cars. In my late teens I progressed from playing with toy cars to the real thing and took an automobile engineering course at college. This passion led me to a career in the motor industry. I worked for Europe’s largest vehicle auction group for the majority of my career and was fortunate to hold a number of senior positions with them. In the mid 1990s I took a three year break from the auctions to take on a new challenge and joined the UK’s largest dealer group at the time, as Group Used Car Director. I met Joe in the early 1990s when he was running his family’s Alfa Romeo dealership in North London.
My name is Joe. Cars are in my blood. My dad had a car showroom and once I had completed my apprenticeship with Fiat, both in the workshop and in their showroom, I joined him in the business. In the late 1980s we opened an Alfa Romeo dealership in North London. I knew of Ashley as the auctioneer at my local car auction and we met when he walked into my showroom in the early 1990s.
Our love of cars, skiing and football, together with our shared values, has resulted in us being friends ever since.
Our story
During our time in the motor industry we have listened to family, friends and customers tell us of the frustrations and confusion they have experienced when trying to buy or sell a car. So when the opportunity arose for us to create our own business we decided to offer a real alternative to the usual car buying and selling experience.

Our approach is relaxed and informal, with a painstaking eye for detail. We want to help you find your next car and know how important it is to have one that suits your needs. We offer truly impartial advice and on-going customer service, regardless of the car you choose and the budget you have.
We appreciate your time is valuable and car buying can be a confusing, daunting and stressful experience. We do all the hard work including finding, checking, negotiating and buying the right car; taking care of any part exchange; and advising you on the appropriate Finance and Warranty arrangements.
Our legacy
We want to give something tangible back to the environment so have partnered with Time4Trees to plant trees in the UK for every car we source.

Your journey with emotive
Whether we chat on the phone or meet up for a coffee we take the time to listen to what you want and discuss all the options.

We have partnered with the RAC to offer you an extended warranty on your car if required.
We keep in touch with you regularly.
We search the market and undertake a full history check on every car which includes
- an insurance total loss or accident repaired check
- stolen check
- mileage and history check
We then draw up a shortlist of recommendations to discuss with you.
Once you have decided on the car you want we inspect it, check that it has been correctly described and then negotiate to buy it on your behalf.
We take the car for a full independent mechanical inspection, service and MOT it if required, fully sanitise / valet it and ensure that all documentation is ready and complete.
When we are completely happy the vehicle is ready for you, we tax, transfer ownership and deliver it to you. We hand over all documentation, introduce you to your new car and demonstrate all its features.
